Tips For Creating An Inviting Office Space Employees Will Like To Be In

During the recent troubles, a huge portion of the population began to work from home to keep the wheels of commerce turning.

Once it was safe to go back to the office, no one was too surprised to learn that most employees didn’t want to, they liked working at home!

Even so, there is simply some business that needs to take place in an office environment, things that a video conference just isn’t equipped for.

So, companies were faced with a dilemma- how do we entice valued workers to leave their homes and come back to the office, at least for part of the week?

They tried a lot of things, but interestingly enough the method that worked the best was pretty simple- make the office a nicer place to be!

And so, expert designers were summoned to remake the office place into a more comfortable, people-friendly environment.

Truckloads of fresh, new office furniture in Sydney were delivered to the city’s businesses while renovations and remodeling went on day and night, all in a grand effort to pry recalcitrant employees away from their cosy kitchen table laptops and back into the warm embrace of a brand new, ergonomic, work habitat that they might actually enjoy being in!

So, what was learned from all this? We will now share some of the redesign techniques used in the great back-to-office migration!

Colour Scheme

his somewhat depends on the kind of work being done there. For a calm, serious atmosphere like a law firm go with neutral, cool tones that soothe and encourage thoughtful reflection.

If the office is meant for an open, communicative environment like an advertising agency, choose warm, bright colours that lend excitement and cheer.

Whatever colour scheme you decide is best for your business, keep it consistent throughout the office to maintain a cohesive look and feel.

Live Plants

It’s been scientifically proven that living greenery makes people feel and perform better than they do in an environment without it. First, choose plants that are well suited to indoor living with modest care requirements.

Medium-stature plants with modestly sized leaves are good for creating a living green backdrop without making the place feel like an overwhelming jungle. Lighting conditions should also be taken into account with sun-loving species near bright windows, and shade dwellers in places like the restrooms where natural light doesn’t penetrate.

Lighting

First, think about the area being lit and its purpose- use diffused, warm, overhead lighting for public areas, and strong, bright lighting over desks and work tables to provide employees with sufficient illumination to perform tasks.

A cozy table lamp placed here and there near desks and chairs adds friendly charm to make those workers feel at home!

Furniture

The word of the day is ergonomic, meaning items designed for efficiency and comfort in the working environment. Comfortable chairs made of natural materials like wood and seats covered with cloth are preferred to plastic or metal, with vinyl upholstery.

Plenty of desk space to make room for working on, and all the gadgets we can’t live without in this technological age. Both of these items should have adjustable heights!

Welcome back to the office!
