Five Ways To Discover Your Passions

What is it that you love about life? So many people never truly discover what they’re passionate about in life, which is pretty sad when you think about it. You have to really think about what makes you tick, what gets your juices flowing, and what makes you daydream when you’re having a moment to yourself.

Finding your passions is something you want to get on with if you hope to have a life that is filled with contentment. The thing to remember most is that what works for you to find your passions won’t work for someone else. Some people, like Stephen Troese Jr., blog about their passion – in this case, it’s sports.

Others like to climb mountains and do yoga at the top. What works for you may be different, and it’s exciting to learn what makes you tick the most. Once you are passionate about something, you can’t help but pick it apart until you get what you want.

All it takes to find your passion is a little honesty with yourself. Answering the tough questions takes time, so give yourself that time to figure it out. Below, we’ve got five ways to do it!

Go for a walk

You need a clear head, and the best way to do that is to take a walk! You need to go on a hike and get some fresh air and think. Let the brain relax, breathe deeply as you walk, and just let your mind wander. Write down all the things that you consider when you get home.

Brainstorm

Lists are soothing, and you can always put together a list of things that you are interested in to see what springs out of the page to you. You can be more honest when you write a list of things that will be for you, too. Contemplate what will work for you, and you will be able to figure out what made you feel good in the past. You can then work with this in the future.

Put together a picture board

Pinterest has this one down; whatever you like in life, take a picture and collage until your heart’s content. You can find your passions this way because you’ll notice a running theme that will help you come to the right conclusions.

Start againyou want to be a doctor

If your passions mean that you need to start over, do it! Maybe you want to be a doctor, or you want to buy a sewing machine and start a class every week. It doesn’t matter what the passions are – the point is that you need to work on them. Every day is a new beginning, and the time will pass anyway – you may as well do things you want to do.

Make a book

Put all of your research on yourself together and bind it. It’s a book of you and your journey of discovery – you absolutely have to honor it! Take the time to do this, and you can always refer back to it when you have questions.
