5 Jobs That Don’t Require a College Degree

College isn’t for everyone, but that doesn’t mean you deserve a nice slice of the success pie. College also doesn’t mean that you can’t find great-paying jobs that will give you a life of luxury.

Specialized skills are in high demand these days. With so many people fighting to climb the financial ladder or white-collar professions ladder, blue-collar jobs that offer vital services are starting to fall to the wayside. Here are a few jobs you may want to consider getting if you don’t have a college degree.

Plumber

Everyone needs a plumber. Toilets break, washing machines need to be hooked up, and pipes need to be fixed. You have to be highly specialized to do all that fixing without flooding someone’s home. Plumbers can make a decent salary as well that will afford you a phenomenal lifestyle. With just a few years of school, you can be making serious money in no time.

Electrician

As time continues, everything runs on electricity, even cars. Being an electrician is going to be a trade that many people will need to utilize at some point. If you can become a master electrician by the time that happens, you will earn a great salary in the future.

The average electrician can go to school in less than a year, while other more specialized electricians go to school for two years. To get a sense of an average electrician salary, Electricians earn $53,136 per year on average. Electricians can also make six figures a year if they provide a lot of services.

IT Specialist

The entire world runs on the internet. Phones, tablets, computers, TVs all require the know-how of someone specialized in IT support. When you can provide this type of trade to people, you will never be without a job.

As a matter of fact, if you can provide this type of trade to major corporations, you may have a job for life. Once you graduate from an IT program, you can start making great money right away. The more experience you have and the bigger the clients you earn, your salary can double or triple the salary you will earn right out of school.

Jobs that don’t require a college degree: medical assistant

Medical assistants keep a doctor’s office running at full steam. From handling patients to handling paperwork and doing other administrative duties, assistants can make a great salary while giving back to those in need.

You are the first person a patient will meet when they enter the office, and you are the one they will speak to on the phone to link them to the medical care they need.

Paralegal

A paralegal is the backbone of any law office. Not only will you learn about the law your office practices, but you will help assist lawyers in their daily operations, making it easier for them to help people and serve justice.
