Survival Hacks To Help You Win At Winter

We’re through the festive months and into a brand new year. But there are still a few months of Winter left. There might be more than that, depending on where you live.  We all need some simple but effective ways to help us through the darker months feeling positive. Here are 5 survival hacks to help you feel ready to win at Winter.

Treat Yourselfsurvival hacks

There’s never been a better excuse than getting through Winter to treat yourself. Specifically, treating yourself to food that brings joy! An excellent way to do this is to stock up on good quality chocolate. Not only does it taste amazing, but it also releases those all-important endorphins — the purer the chocolate, the better the health benefits.

Baking is also a great way to treat yourself to something nice. Rustle up some homemade goodies, and it’ll help relieve symptoms of anxiety and depression. Not to mention the happiness you’ll feel from making a nice treat for you and your loved ones to enjoy.

Survival Hacks: Bring The Outside In

Introducing some greenery to your home is a sure way to make you feel better. Plants reduce your stress and clean the air inside your home for free. There’s also something satisfying about seeing your house full of life.

Try something like Bonsai Trees for the added benefit of relaxing and meditative effects pruning can have. But don’t feel daunted about caring for something living; you could start with some artificial plants that’ll bring the same joy without the maintenance.

Let There Be Light

Natural light is the holy grail of making us feel better. With there being less of it available during the winter months, please make the most of every bit of it by planning time outside. It could be a short stroll, walking to the shops instead of driving, or something as simple as having your morning cuppa outside.

If going on, walks feels like too much right now, that’s ok! Look at investing in some daylight lamps to help you get the all-important physical and mental benefits. It’s a quick-fix way to feel good.

The Joy Of Music

Making a playlist of your favorite feel-good tracks can help you to feel energized on dark Winter mornings. Your brain delivers dopamine when listening to music, so it’s a sure-fire way to boost your mood and make you feel less stressed. Who doesn’t love a dance party on a cold day!

Treat yourself to something like a Spotify subscription to make playlist building easy and stress-free.

Survival Hacks: DeclutterDeclutter

This one doesn’t sound like much fun, but it can significantly impact your mood. You know what people say; a tidy home makes a tidy mind. Having a cleaner living space means that you can focus better on tasks that bring you real joy.

Did you know that just 20 minutes of cleaning a week can help alleviate symptoms of depression? Now that’s an easy way to win at Winter.

These are just a few things that will help you feel more upbeat and relaxed so that you can tackle anything Winter and 2021 throws your way. Remember, you don’t have to do all of them! Most importantly, focus on doing little things every day that bring you some joy.
