Here is Why TikTok – Still No. 1 App in AppStore

Even with a $5.7 million FTC fine and changes to restrict its use by those younger than 13 years older, TikTok kept its No. 1 spot as the most downloaded program on the Apple App Store for its fifth consecutive quarter, according to a new report in Sensor Tower.

Even with a $5.7 million FTC fine and changes to restrict its use by those younger than 13 years older, TikTok kept its No. 1 spot as the most downloaded program on the Apple App Store for its fifth consecutive quarter, according to a new report in Sensor Tower.

The No. 16 top program, Twitter, also had a fantastic quarter, the report noted.

With 11.7 million App Store downloads, it saw its main quarter concerning downloads since Q1 2015 — along with a year-over-year increase of 3.6%. Obviously, these figures won’t necessarily translate to an increase in active users, as installs are not a direct correlation to use.

But while TikTok was again topping the App Store, it wasn’t the most downloaded program on Android apparatus in Q1. Having a larger footprint in emerging markets and a bigger overall user base, Android tendencies can look distinct from those on iOS.

Last year, WhatsApp was the No. 1 app on Google Play, with nearly 199 million matches. It was followed by Messenger, then TikTok, Facebook, and Instagram.

Facebook, WhatsApp, and Messenger all watched over 150 million installs apiece in Q1 2019, as did TikTok.

Though perhaps not the top program on Android, TikTok still needed a massive quarter — especially in India, in which 88.6 million new users installed the program in Q1, up 8.2 occasions over Q1 2018, Sensor Tower reported in an earlier report. That said, TikTok’s amounts for the next quarter may not be as excellent. The app was prohibited in India in April over illegal content, including porn.

But still, most Indian users try to find different ways to get free TikTok likes and fans. Even though that ban was raised after that month, Sensor Tower estimated it had priced the app at least 15 million downloads there, and also what could have been its biggest-ever month.

An up-and-comer in Q1 included YouTube Kids, which saw a 291% quarter-over-quarter growth and 29 million downloads on Google Play, where it joined YouTube and YouTube Music to develop into a top 20 program.

Messenger clocked in at No. 2 with nearly 203 million installs. And TikTok’s profits on the App Store allowed it to take the No. 3. Position, followed by Facebook and Instagram. The remainder of the top 10 did not change, with Facebook claiming four of the top five spots. Meanwhile, first-time users in India pushed image editor PicsArt to the global top 20.
